When you are 85 years old, sitting on your porch looking back on your life, what do you want to remember? What do you want to be able to say that
you did and felt?

What becomes of your life happens out of DESIGN, not happenstance. In other words, what happens to us is based on our decisions and the way
we choose to live rather than the circumstances we are faced with. We can design our lives through the careful construction of STRUCTURE,
utilizing the building blocks of Values and Goals. Therefore we must have a firm understanding of our values and clear goals in order to use
structure to design our lives.

What is structure?

Structure is any success that stems from a workable structure. It is an outline that guides us. Structures cornerstones are values and goals.

What do you value?

When people think about what they want out of their lives, they often answer simplistically that they want to be happy, but what leads to happiness,
peace, and satisfaction?

Your values play a large role in your level of happiness.
WakingUp.net believes that life satisfaction comes from realizing one's values,
developing goals from those values, and committing to the pursuit of achieving those goals.

Some people go through their life dragging themselves from one unsatisfying experience to the next with no real hope of anything changing. They
set goals valued by OTHER people that, when reached, don't mean anything. Maybe they thought it would provide happiness if they got a raise,
bought that house, changed jobs, but in the end, it didn't.

Who's goal was it anyway?

Aren't you supposed to be happy if you make more money or join the Golf Club? There is no sense in working towards something that isn't
valuable and worthwhile to you.

overcoming them is what makes life meaningful"

What do you want?

If you want to make a positive change in your life, there is no time like the present to take action.

Any success stems from a workable structure. This is an outline that guides us. Otherwise we can become adrift and aimless, leading to
failure and dissatisfaction. The following concepts lead us through the development of that structure, which we can fall back on in times of crisis or
disillusionment.

These four concepts WakingUp.net refers to as the four S's

What is Function?

The skills discussed in the FUNCTION section aim at our moment-to-moment satisfaction. Function is the art of navigation through difficult
situations and handling complicated emotions.
